Our programs benefit students who need us most.
The need is great.
An average of 89% of Afterschool Program participants are eligible for free or reduced-price lunch. Of our active participants, 11.5% are English Language Learners, 8.9% are Special Education students, 3.9% are homeless and 0.7% are foster youth.
For too many students from under-resourced and disadvantaged communities, learning takes a back seat to what is outside the classroom – poverty and crime.
We provide loving, effective tools that change students’ attitudes, outcomes, and lives for the better.
Our people make the difference.
Our efforts to develop compassionate schools are needed now more than ever – and they have been making a positive difference since 1990.
Each EduCare staff member is passionate about changing young lives for the better, and goes the extra mile to make sure each student’s specific needs are addressed with compassion and caring.
Our results speak for themselves.
We can see the difference every day, when a student who had been falling behind starts to excel… when a shy student becomes a leader… or when a young person becomes the first in their family to enroll in college.
Making a positive impact, one child at a time.
EduCare has gained recognition for producing remarkable results, in both academics and behavior.
For the past three decades, EduCare has served youth by assisting young people to become high achievers; promoting healthy relationships in the home and in the community; and preventing destructive social behaviors such as substance abuse, violence and crime.
“A year ago, I had gold around my neck and my pockets loaded with money. Today I don’t have the gold or much money, but I am a much happier person and much richer inside…and now I know I will live to see my son grow up.”
