Jill Jacobson Takes the Helm as EduCare’s New CEO
It is a delight and an honor to connect with you for the first time in my new role as Chief Executive Officer of EduCare.
I am grateful to Stu Semigran for his support and confidence during the past seven months of transition as EduCare moves into its next phase of development and growth.
Stu Semigran, Co-Founder of EduCare, has passed the baton to incoming Chief Executive Officer, Jill Jacobson.
The month of January was a challenging way to begin 2025, and I hope all who are reading this now are safe and mending from the devastation caused by the winds, fires, and poor air quality.
I am very proud of how our leadership and staff reacted during the winds and fires, as well as during the resulting temporary school shutdowns. I appreciated our staff’s adaptability and flexibility to quickly move and shift during a constantly evolving environment, with changing news and information updates, always putting their students' interests and safety first.
And now the EduCare team is working together to support our staff, students, and families with resources geared towards addressing the fear and uncertainty associated with the recent Immigration Executive Orders.
I am grateful to EduCare's Leadership and Extended Leadership Teams who continue to work tirelessly on behalf of our students and staff. The support they have provided me during these past six weeks has been invaluable.
I'd like to introduce you to EduCare's leadership:
EduCare's Leadership Team
Armando Diaz – Chief Growth and Innovation Officer (new role),
Robert Underhill – Vice President of Finance (promoted role),
Michael Rawson – Development Director,
Sergio Sicairos – Afterschool Programs Director, and
Lynn Farwell – Administration Director (new role)
EduCare's Extended Leadership Team
In addition to Leadership Team members
Coila Romero – Senior Manager, Finance,
Vanessa Senteno – Senior Program Manager, ACE (Achievement and Commitment to Excellence),
Manuel Chan Pool – Senior Program Manager, Afterschool Programs, and
Geneva ("Gigi") Barba – Senior Program Manager, Specialized Programs and Services
I am very clear, in my role as EduCare's CEO, that continual collaboration across the organization will be key to EduCare's future success. I am so enthused that, in addition to being strong leaders, the Leadership and Extended Leadership Teams are aligned in our vision and goals for EduCare and are communicative and supportive of each other. I am very lucky to work with these leaders who share a strong dedication to EduCare's future!
Our outstanding team is actively developing ways to bring EduCare's heart-centered programs and services to an ever-expanding number of youth and families, and I am working closely with our Board of Directors, leadership, staff, and community partners to plan the future growth of EduCare's compassionate and caring communities.
As I settle into the rhythm of my new role, I am guided by my deep commitment to EduCare's mission, vision, and values. I look forward to working with you as we grow together in service to our youth.
All my best,
Jill Jacobson
