ACE Heartbeats for All Lennox Students Heading to Middle School

Two-up.png

EduCare is happy to be partnering with the Lennox Unified School District to provide ACE Heartbeats, our Virtual Heartset® Social-Emotional Learning Workshops, to every student about to make the critical transition from fifth to sixth grade. These highly interactive workshops focus on success, character building, and positive school climate and connection.

During the last week of this school year, more than 500 graduating fifth-grade students across all five elementary schools in the district are learning five essential Heartset® Skills, with the participation of their teachers, EduCare facilitators, and support staff.

Eddie Garcia, Director of Student Support Services for the Lennox Unified School District (which includes five elementary schools and one middle school), worked closely with EduCare to create the master schedule. Each of seven distinct groups is rotating through five Heartset Skills, in both morning and afternoon sessions. Each group has about 75 individuals – primarily students, plus EduCare and Lennox personnel.

ACE Heartbeat staff report that the students are eager, enthusiastic, and quick to grasp these essential Heartset skills. And since Lennox Middle School is served by EduCare’s Afterschool Programs, there will be ongoing support as students take that big leap to middle school.

Additional shout-outs to Emily Cummins from Jefferson Elementary, as well as to Susan Saltz and the Gary Saltz Foundation, who generously provided funding for this event!
