What is a Heartset?
Most people are familiar with the idea of a mindset — a frame of mind that has a significant correlation with our motivation, effort, and approach to life’s challenges.
Heartset, then, is a frame of heart.
Have you ever joined a conversation – or wanted to – where listening to different points of view was the norm? Where mistakes were tolerated and understood as part of a learning process? Where support and encouragement were common among people? Where you experienced joy, acceptance, consideration, and kindness? Where love was felt and shared — as though it were in the air? All these qualities form the foundation of a growth Heartset, and are the nurturing soil from which the seeds of impassioned teaching and learning sprout and thrive.
Heartset® Education, EduCare’s unique platform for social-emotional learning (SEL), has been proven to empower students to achieve excellence in personal, social, and academic pursuits, while building a school culture of empathy and kindness.
In April 2021, EduCare’s president, Stu Semigran, and board member, Kamin Samuel, co-hosted a complimentary, one-of-a-kind workshop for friends and donors. It was based on the Eight Heartset® skills that have positively impacted more than 250,000 students, teachers, and parents to date.
This workshop was designed to support people in learning more about EduCare’s transformative programs, and in developing a greater sense of connection, empathy, and love in their own lives. At EduCare, we aim to nurture a Growth Heartset in ourselves and our students.
